Aliya's fist days home

It's been quite a week. We've been adjusting to life as a new family and are having a great time with our new baby girl. We are loving every minute of being parents and enjoy watching Aliya do new things every day. She is a very good eater and sleeper and had a great 1 week check up at the dr. That sure made our day. Here are some pictures from her first days at home.

Aliya's journey home

Here is Aliya's first car ride - she slept all the way home from the hospital.

When we got home from the hospital Aliya was greeted by grandma and grandpa Butzen and aunt Annie.

Grandma Rivera also made the trip out East shortly after she was born.

It's a ...

Baby Girl!!!

Announcing Aliya Riley Rivera. She made her grand entrance into the world at 4:53 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9. She weighs 8 pounds exactly and is 19.5 inches long. She is absolutely gorgeous, of course we're biased, and most importantly healthy. We love her to pieces already.

Still Waiting...

Well, peanut's due date was Friday, Nov. 28 - Black Friday.... But, here we are nearly a week later and we're still waiting. Apparently Black Friday shopping wasn't enough to stir him/her up to come out and meet us.

We hope to have good news to share soon!

Baby Rivera is on the way

We're a little slow in starting this, but better late than never...

We found out the exciting news that we were expecting in mid-March, but didn't really believe it until the first dr. appointment on April 21 where we had an ultrasound and got to see and hear the little peanut. That was an amazing day! (I'd post some ultrasound pictures - we've had four, but the scanner isn't working...) On the last ultrasound on Aug. 28, the little one gave us the thumbs up to let us know that everything is going well in there. Now that was a reassuring sign!

We finally got up the nerve to tell immediate family in early May, once we were more convinced this little peanut was going to stick around, and waited a couple more months to tell everyone else.

The little one is due to join the family around Thanksgiving, which means we'll have even more to be thankful for this year! We have decided not to find out if its a boy or a girl. We'll be thrilled either way and are just praying for a healthy baby.
